THE VERTIGO OF FREEDOM / EL VÉRTIGO DE LA LIBERTAD
…Clearly, each of the works in the exhibition was a compartment filled with faith or anguish, fruitfulness or sterility, mocking, or freedom.
After all, these are spaces where the artist vented the parts of his identity that he wanted to share.
As a consequence, Icarus became the artist himself. The pullover sweater worn during his ironic and yet lyrical falls is the same garment that Alpizar wore in his singular portraits. A simple item of clothing brought the desire up to date and gave continuity to the flight and to the fall. This personalization enabled a more direct connection with everyday life, with ordinary existence.

…Cada una de las obras son, sin duda, compartimentos. En ellos discurre la fe o la angustia, la plenitud o la esterilidad, el escarnio o la libertad.
Espacios, en definitiva, múltiples, en los que despeja esa conciencia de sí que desea compartir.
En consecuencia, Ícaro pasó a ser el propio artista. El pulóver con que estaba ataviado en esas irónicas y al mismo tiempo líricas caídas, es el mismo que Alpízar viste en sus singulares autorretratos. Una sencilla prenda de ropa actualizó y dio continuidad al ansia de volar y a la caída. Esta personalización facilitó un vínculo más directo con la vida común, con la existencia ordinaria.
